$1 Golf Course Too Expensive!!!! and some people see a housing turnaround????
The sounds of 'fore' on a local golf course may soon be silenced due to a foreclosure of sorts. Like many homeowners facing foreclosure, the owners of Wild Wings Golf Course near Woodland say they can't pay their bills and plan to walk away from the property. The closure would mean homeowners who bought homes with a golf course view may soon be seeing brown instead of lush green fairways.

The property owners are so desperate to get out of the deal, they basically offered to sell the course to Yolo County for $1.
The county hasn't said no, but they haven't said yes, either.
There is not a chance Yolo County will take the course even for free. The problem is Yolo County faces a budget deficit and is laying off workers. That is all the county needs....a money losing golf course on top of the fact that the developer is not paying taxes.
This problem is playing out in newer home developments around the country. The foreclosure pipeline grows every month putting an even greater strain on communities, pricing, and municipal budgets. This is simply the facts......until foreclosures get under control and prices stabilize........the only light at the end of the tunnel is the train coming at you......
And just think, some people laughed at me a few years ago when I said you would be able to buy new homes at 50% off....now you can get beautifully manicured golf courses for free.
