A Finance Ministry official says Kuwait does not want any delays to implementing a unified Gulf currency plan.

The official Kuwait News Agency on Monday quoted Finance Ministry Undersecretary Khalifa Hamada as saying Kuwait supports issuing the new currency "on schedule."

When your allies are attacking you.....you know you have problems.  Don't these guys know that if Oil is priced in anything but dollars.....the price per barrel on a dollar basis will go through the stratosphere......and we have no way to get much of any other currency to support our 330 million people who are used to living at a very high standard and consuming lots of oil for just about everything????

Since our wages are constrained.....not like in the 70s where wages went through the roof or eighties when spouses entered the workforce elevating family incomes....if oil skyrockets against our evaporating wages....we are hosed.....really hosed up the hose hole.

OIL and GOLD are now rising exponentially....our allies are abandoning us in the currency game.....you can only counterfeit for so long....before even your friends abandon you.

Friends don't let friends drive drunk....nor do they let them counterfeit.

Now the question is what happens to our economy if government reigns in spending and actually becomes responsible?????  Can anyone say massive contraction????  But you know what they say, no pain no gain.

So what will Obama do....attack other nations and  take their oil......or suck it up and restructure  our economy?????

Neither.

But you bring up an excellent point. We need to wean ourselves off foreign oil. Not just because it will be so expensive, but more because of our national security. We are buying oil from nations where people hate us (and where it's not the people, it is their regimes). Some of that money ends up in hands of terrorists. We must dissociate ourselves from these countries. Stop trading with them altogether. Pull all our interests, so there no longer is a need to "defend" those interests. Maybe they'll find someone else to hate. At the very least, we will stop funding their lifestyles.
