Dec. 31 (Bloomberg) -- The Mayo Clinic, praised by President Barack Obama as a national model for efficient health care, will stop accepting Medicare patients as of tomorrow at one of its primary-care clinics in Arizona, saying the U.S. government pays too little.

More than 3,000 patients eligible for Medicare, the government’s largest health-insurance program, will be forced to pay cash if they want to continue seeing their doctors at a Mayo family clinic in Glendale, northwest of Phoenix, said Michael Yardley, a Mayo spokesman.

....nice observation.....you are now starting to pick up on the subtlties......

In the past it was just NYC, or CA, or this or that......now it is just about everything at the same time.

Soon fewer and fewer health care providers will be accepting medicare.....not the end of the world, simply the end of the world as you know it.

At your age, it really is not a big deal.......as most of this world is behind you as you are preparing for the next one.

But my guess is most Fools don't have your perspective or position in life.

Idiot.  It's one of 4 Mayo clinics in Arizona, not all of the Mayo clinics will stop accepting Medicare.

I have treated at Mayo....I know the system well.

I expect a lot more doctors to come aboard during 2010.....the question you should ask is why did they stop....??????
