JOB LOSSES ARE LOT MORE PAINFUL NOW BECAUSE FINDING REPLACEMENT WORK IS MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE DIFFICULT THAN IN TRADITIONAL RECESSIONS......WHY?  BECAUSE THIS IS A MASSIVE DEPRESSION!!!!!!...you just don't know it yet because you're being showered with counterfeit dollars.....but my guess is someone or something will put a stop to it soon.

Workers at the Pilkington Automotive glass plant in Clinton were told Monday that the facility will be closing.

Pilkington’s owners, the NSG Group based in Tokyo, announced the closure in a news release  Tuesday.

The company notified the affected employees at meetings Monday at the plant. The Clinton facility has approximately 130 employees, with the phased closure will be completed by the end of summer 2010.

“We are devastated, heartbroken for the employees who will be losing their jobs in this tight economy,” said Clinton Village Manager Kevin Cornish. “We had no indication something like this was going to happen.”

Yes the actual announcement that the plant was closing would come as a surprise... but no indication?! Just looking around the rest of the NSG/Pilkington group they have been shutting plants left right and center... and they did announce nearly 6000 lay offs in early January 09... I was one of those unfortunate souls in I Group Engineering that got the bullet.
