30,000,000 people work DIRECLY for government

Between Federal, State, Local, Grant Recipients, and Contractors....approximately 30,000,000 relatively high paid workers work directly for government.

Unfortunately, with the Federal Government running a $1.6 trillion dollar deficit.....without the deficit it would be impossible to pay those 30,000,000 workers........

and if those 30,000,000 were not spending on health care, food, fuel, insurance etc.....our economy would collapse.

As you can see, our economy is now dependent on a government deficit....so is our peception of wealth as defined by dollars in an Industrial based specialized system where we all use dollar to obtain the production of others.

Imagine what happens when we start cutting the deficit....We start assininating consumers.....the driver of the American, and much of the world's economy.  Without enough consumers, there really is no economic motivation to produce, especially if you have too much overhead.

Soon we will understand our Industrial Model is DEAD.....it is time for the Digital Age.

A similar number get paid by cities counties and states.

ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE CONSUMERS....and we have a consumer dependent economy.  If they are not consuming, our private economy will collapse and so will our debt based Industrial Model.

Most of that money goes to pay social programs and the military.  If we just got out of Iraq and Afghanistan and halved our troups in Germany, Japan, and South Korea we would save huge amounts of money.

I agree with you...we would save a lot of money and we should get out.

However, every dollar spent on military goes to someone's salary or a product driving a salary.  All of those salaries are consumers and taxpayers.....

and the people receiving social programs are consumers.....

these consumers are the driver of our consumer economy....we are talking about over 50,000,000 consumers....and if they are not consuming, our economy collapses.

I am not trying to make a political statement either way, simply an observation of how our, and much of the world's Industrial economies, function.
