Duoyuan Global Water is interesting, but I'd be very skeptical of buying in given the connections to Duoyuan Printing.  I've been reluncant to use the "s" word when describing specific Chinese companies, but everything about DYP was fishy to me, and now, the issues with Deloitte suggest there might be something to my suspicions. This wouldn't amount to a hill of beans, except that the two companies share some management figures, which makes me worry about DGW.

I do like the "basket" approach, which is exactly the approach I would take if I were buying into these types of risky securities.  Though, personally, I don't think I'd do it with these Chinese companies without doing some cursory research on them to assess the odds whether they are legit or not.

No question about it! This is not a real-money trade I have put on. On Duoyuan Global Water, I share these concerns.
