 Bankruptcy filings rise to 6,000 a day as job losses take toll

Consumer and commercial bankruptcy filings are on pace to reach a stunning 1.5 million this year, according to a report from Automated Access to Court Electronic Records.

Commercial  bankruptcies hurt much more that just a few family members....they hurt many families in many cases........

Right now the aggregate budgets for Federal, State, and Local governments is approaching $6.5 trillion dollars per year.....that is about $80,000 per family.  For a nation where the average family income is only about $50,000 per year....it seems like a lot of ground to make up.....and now millions of Americans getting fired or taking large pay cuts.....it seems practically impossible without applying the Alstrynomic Restructulator.....that is right.....The Alstrynomic Restructulator is arrived....we will go into more depth in the future.

It would be nice of Deej or Donner could help Alstry out of his funk by providing some guidance how a nation with an average income of $50K per family can sustain a government that spends $80K per year per family???

The problem now is that with a deficit so large, there is no country in the world with the resources to support it!!!!!!

Maybe if they gave him some good guidance....Alstry could stop or slow his posts.......wouldn't that be something????

Alstry, i think you have a certain genius for seeing all the way through some problems. But the masses are so delusional that the illusion is real, and might go on being real for what seems like a surprising amount of time to someone that can count.

That said, you asked about how do we reign in the beast. Well, you've seen the movie classic "Old Yeller"?

Ah, but you're forgetting one of the most powerful tools the government has to raise revenue...the speed trap!  Yep, spent the day in court and watched each and every defendant, myself included, get shot down...didn't matter if the cop had lost sight of the car for a period of time, wrote down a different color, etc.  So that's the kind of stuff local and state governments will do in response to shortfall. 

 

Of course it will eventually fall apart and unproductive leeches (government employees) will be kicked out on their asses, which to me will be a sign that a very slow recovery is about to begin.

 

Until then, this is my kind of market. :D

We need to be ready to accept a (much) different level of services from our goverments (local state and federal).  Maybe the roads aren't so perfect and maybe not all the street lights glow every night etc etc etc etc.  The only way to avoid being taxed into oblivion to make up for the incredible spending that has been going on it expect less from Uncle Sam et. al.  In short; we need to lower our standard of living.  Maybe we will have less effecton the environment in the process.
