A family-run Pennsylvania trucking company that has been in business for 140 years is shutting down its operations, the (West Chester, Pa.) Daily Local News reported Wednesday.

Frame’s Motor Freight’s owner, Robert “Bud” Temple, cited the slow economy as well as high insurance and fuel costs and overcapacity in the trucking industry, the paper said.

It was the oldest freight company in Pennsylvania, starting since “horse-and-wagon days” in 1870, the newspaper reported on its Web site.

Frame’s is based in West Goshen, Pa. and has a terminal in Richmond, Va., which it opened in 1996, the paper said.

The company had about 65 tractors, according to American Trucking Associations fleet data.

The two locations combined had 81 employees
