99.07! Some rules I read and used and now share with you

I read a couple of very useful tips for CAPS players trying to improve their ratings.  One has helped me very much, one should kick in any time.  But at this 10 seconds, I'm at 60% accurate and 99.07 overall with 863 points - way cool for me!

The tip that helped is this:  When you have a pick that you still feel very positive about, but it has been hammered, close out the pick (that won't affect your accuracy anyway), then re-pick that stock.  So, for example, if the stock goes from 9 down to 3, but you still like the stock.  You can close it and re-open a position at 3.  So then, if it goes up to 18 like you thought it would, you get 500 points instead of 100.  I closed and re-opened several house builders, which has been very beneficial (so far).

The second tip is to short the shorts.  This one has killed me so far, because I began doing this shortly before the "crash" of early 2008.  But there are a number of shorts to pick from - many have "proshares" in the name.  Here are some short ETFs you can short:

SIJ,MYY, SFK, SBB, SDP, SJF, RXD, SJL, SZK, RWM, SJH, TWM, SSG, MZZ, REW, PSQ, SH, SDD, SRS, SMN, SDS, QID, SKF.

I may be crazy to be long the financials and home builders, but I still am.  Still really like Energy and Precious Metals, too!  Beyond that, I look for companies trying to buy back their shares on the cheap.  Happy investing!!
