Kurt Morris (TMFSpeck) sent around this link of The Biggest Bankruptcies in History through the Fool's Yammer network. It's a graphical representation of the largest bankruptcies in history, and pretty slick in typical Good Magazine style. According to Good, 8 of the last 20 largest have gone down during the last two years. That was quite the credit bubble. [more]

Thanks to my Dad, I grew up a Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins fan (until I branched out on my own to root for my hometown Phillies, Sixers and Flyers, not to mention the Eagles). And I still cheer for the Boston teams as long as they don't ruin the Philly teams' chances of making the playoffs. Boston is one of my favorite towns. [more]

A good Forbes story (it's a few weeks old but worth the read) on Arturo Moreno, the owner of the Angels, who Forbes considers the best owner in baseball, who bought the Angels for $183 million in ’03 from Disney (who was begging to get out of sports) and now it’s worth around $500 million, after they’ve won one title and gone on to some very good years. What struck me is his interest in getting “butts in the seats” by what seem like common sense steps (lowering the price of beers/tickets), and yet delivering more corporate value: [more]
