The brewing moral outrage over the "Who is John Galt" bags at lululemon strikes me as silly on a lot of levels, so I wrote about it here. Good thing I have a long memory and recall some of founder Chip Wilson's strange philosophical meanderings from the past. The Secret? Oh my. So, I've noticed that "left" vs. "right" and "us" vs. "them" mentality is already skewing the Occupy Wall Street movement and causing anger. There are good reasons for Americans - ALL Americans -- to be angry about what transpired on Wall Street. Come on, there was that mugging we took in 2008, the subsequent case of PTSD, and the fact that our whole system is pretty darn corrupt, unjust, and distorted.   [more]

Holy cow, that subscriber guidance... I ended my thumbs up on Netflix here in CAPS right after the price hike news. I did wonder if maybe I was being too reactionary, since most of the outrage I saw was purely anecdotal (people ranting on social media), but man. I have to wonder if Netflix somehow missed one of the very simple lessons Blockbuster learned (the hard way): when you make your customers mad, nothing good happens.   [more]
