Hayek Pulls a Tolstoy

February 19, 2010 – Comments (2)

Remember when Tolstoy's Anna Karenina became a bestseller years ago after Oprah recommended it for her book club? OK, F.A. Hayek's The Road to Serfdom may not be doing quite that well, but apparently sales of the book are taking off. These are achievements that are pretty darn good for a couple of authors who are no longer with us, particularly for Hayek, seeing how he was an economist, right? CEOs Cashing In and a Dash of Shame

February 03, 2010 – Comments (2) | RELATED TICKERS: SBUX

Yesterday on Fool.com, I wrote about CEO pay, focusing in on some interesting developments that percolated in Starbucks' Howard Schultz's pay package last year. As has been the case for a long time, runaway CEO pay (disconnected with measures of merit and performance) disturbs me.    [more]
