I was reading, of all things, C.V. Myers' "World Rollover" a couple of weeks ago. Now when I was a pre-teen, I cut my teeth on my parents' discarded copies of Myers' Finance and Energy - that should tell you something about my economic background, if you remember that time - and the principles I learned in those turbulent 80's have been the ones that informed my understanding of the markets. It's amazing how many parallels you can draw if your recollection of the past - and the trends that played out - is accurate. [more]
