This sell off is getting ridiculous. There are companies right now trading for less than the value of cash they have on hand. An investor could buy the company and instantly have more cash than the paid for the company. I still feel we should look at valuations. If companies are continuing to make money, but are getting badly beaten down now, it will take patience, but there should be some excellent buying opportunities. [more]

It will be curious to see how the markets respond to this bailout plan by the Federal Government. I almost certainly see a false sense of security will be created that will lure the average investor back into the market. Unfortunately this will all most likely happen at once artificially inflating stock values. Be careful and be patient in the fourth quarter. Don't become part of another bubble simply looking for an absolute bottom in stock prices. Best of luck to all that remain in this market during these turbulent times. [more]
