US Bancorp tanked yesterday as Bank of America basically reported earnings derived primarily from one time gains. Today, USB has reported real results, and the stock is up 9+%. I'm up nearly 20% since I purchased it a month or so ago - although I was also down 20% at one point.
I've said before that US Bancorp is the real deal.

Novartis is a high quality, diversified pharma company. I believe it's nearly on par with Johnson and Johnson. It doesn't have a lot of upcoming patent expirations and also has a strong generics division. [more]

Legacy Reserves LP (LGCY) announced a buyout offer from a private equity firm, Apollo Management, of $14 a share. That's significantly less than I think the stock could be worth. However, Legacy is under pressure from volatile commodity prices. It's one of the more aggressive picks I made - I was essentially betting on continued high commodity prices. I intend to cut my losses. [more]
