Bailout - The demise of American Capitalism...

September 29, 2008 – Comments (2)

I and a few others have been warning about this crap hitting the fan for YEARS!!  Most people just wrote us off as chicken littles. And guess what people, IT AINT OVER.  Its FAR from over. The more we try to stop the free market from working itself out, the more communistic a country we become.  We are selling all our freedoms down the river all because we dont want to be held accountable for our actions and take whats coming to us.  Heres a tip: STOP MAKING THE GOVERNMENT YOUR GOD.  The government was never intended to be your provider. Nowhere in the constitution does it say that the government is supposed to save you from yourself. And now we are all in deep doo doo, we pray to the government (asking for bailouts). We make sacrifices to the government (our tax dollars). We even cling to our various government denominated churches (our political parties).  We recieve our various government blessings and we think we are all good (handouts, outrageously low interest rates). All the while, the government is robbing us blind. Its time we WAKE UP America. All the while, the government is robbing us blind. Its time we WAKE UP America. Or we will be the very 3rd world communist country we always criticize.   [more]

Lesson Learned...

September 27, 2008 – Comments (0) | RELATED TICKERS: AIG , WAMUQ

Ok I've learned my lesson.  The only reason my rating is <20 is because I chose to chase short term points in AIG and WM instead of picking my stock based on fundamentals.  Good thing is I only lost points rather than real money. Also, this point deficit is only temporary (hopefully). But what about all those people who have been holding this stock (either directly or indirectly) since last summer? The biggest question everyone asks is "Why didnt anyone see this coming?".  Was it really that no one saw it coming or was it that people did see it coming and just ignored it or wrote off the warnings as "doom and gloom".  Its like being in a relationship with some who is cheating on you.  The warning signs are always there but you choose to ignore it because you dont want to believe it.  You friends and family may even try to warn you about it, but you dismiss them as trying to break you guys up.  Then when your mate finally comes clean or you catch them, you're devasted and feel hopeless.  Instead of learning your lesson you decide to give up dating altogether. For those people I have a few pointers for them.:  [more]

Inflation factor

September 27, 2008 – Comments (0)

I am sick and tired of hearing how fixed rate debt is good because due to inflation you can pay your debt back with “cheaper dollars”.  That would be all well and good if our salaries were going up to match inflation. But they aren’t.  Every day our money buys less and less and our standard of living goes down. For those people who had a standard of living well beyond what they earned, the reduction is need. But for those of use to live within our means, we’re stuck constantly bailing out the people who lived well beyond their means. I mean, honestly, how much would gas be if there were only half the amount of SUVs on the road? How much better would cars be if people didn’t feel the need to replace them every year? How much cheaper would college education be if everyone didn’t feel they were entitled to a Harvard education?  [more]
