Why Markets Will Always Crash - Great Post as Always by Morgan Housel

I'm loving this article.  Actually, I love nearly everything I read from Morgan Housel.  This post reminds me that there are several times in your life to nearly guarantee your success as an investor. You just have to prepare yourself for these times.  As the saying goes, luck is preparation meeting opportunity.  The rest of the time expect in general the average return of the market which isn't bad but not the way to earn outsized returns.  When I looked at my purchases during the last market down turn I realized that I didn't take avantage of the better prices.  I didn't pull out of the market but I didn't buy much either.  This was a very busy time in my life that I didn't have or give much time to investing but that's most likely just part of the story.  When I think back I was just unsure when to get in.  When would the bottom come?  Now with hindsight I should have slowly added to positions as the market continued to decline.   [more]
