Up, Down, Up, Down, the stock market seems to swing a different way each day. Though, taking a step back from the daily swings - I barely had time to notice that we are dangerously close to going under 11,000 on the DOW! The DOW was above 14,000 just this year! It is amazing, but I feel like the big perspective - that we are in REAL trouble - is getting lost in all of the volitility and saturated news announcements (along the lines of: jobless claims are bad, but not as bad as anticipated. housing starts increase - yeah, but from the lowest levels in over a decade! they are still depressed!). Anyway, does anyone else feel that the big picture is being lost amongst all of the stimulus package, "better than expected but still bad" tempered economic releases, artificially deflated CPI, and target fed rate banter? I know the market is not necissarly the economy, but it is a proxy... (kind of like how the DOW is weighted by market cap and the S&P500 is weighted by price, yet they still track together) [more]
