The Secular Bear Argument, Part 1: A Parable By Warren Buffett + Maunfacturing Is The Basis Of All Economy

November 12, 2009 – Comments (3)

From the Land of John Maynard Keynes comes this... [humor]

November 11, 2009 – Comments (3) | RELATED TICKERS: FUN , N , Y

From the land of bad economic theory comes this:
"As a wanted man, you might expect Matthew Maynard to be somewhat camera shy.

But when his local paper published a mugshot of the 23-year-old in an attempt to track him down, he decided it didn't show his best side.

So he provided a replacement. And if that wasn't cheeky enough, he posed for the new photograph standing next to a police van."

What a moron...

On a related note here a story from Wanted: Dumb or Alive:

A Woman (with a baby in a baby carriage) entered an expensive jewelry shop, she was the only one in the store. She browsed for a while and was about to leave when the owner noticed several necklaces missing, he called the cops. They got there quickly and started questioning the woman. In the middle of the questioning the baby begins to cry. She attempt to comfort it but cannot. The baby reaches into its diaper and pulls out a fabulous gold chain, followed shortly by several diamond necklaces and other expensive pieces.

Bad enough, right?
Well when the police start reading the woman her rights she stops them and asks: “you aren’t planning on arresting me are you?” To which the police respond in the affirmative. She replies: “What?! He (gesturing to the baby) took them, arrest him!”   [more]

I think we have gotten ahead of ourselves a bit. But the question here is different, it is not will the market fall in the coming weeks? It is where is fair price for this market. Here are two scenarios that can justify either point of view, which looks more reasonable and if something is missing please add it:  [more]
