I am so glad that the 20th anniversary of the 87 crash is finally behind us. The market staged a mini-swoon in its honor. I hope we can now get back to trying to peer ahead at what is coming rather than looking back at what was. [more]

With three quarters of 2007 in the books and results about to start coming out for the companies I have invested in or rated here in CAPS, it is pleasant to look back on what is shaping up to be an extraordinary year. [more]
April 22, 2007 –
The Intuitive Surgical juggernaut continued in the first quarter. While system sales dropped a bit from the 4th quarter, this followed a well established seasonal pattern. Meanwhile, instrument and accessory revenue was well ahead of expectations, reflecting rapid growth in procedures performed and increased utilization of existing systems. [more]

It's so great to be in a biotech and up a ton, after a number of sour experiences in the last few months. I accumulated shares before the AC meeting and, realizing that the price was going to open up more than three times, I sold a third at the market open the day after the meeting. [more]
