I hate following the crowd. You may be able to tell that from my picks, but then again, maybe not. In case you couldn't tell, I'm a Hidden Gems subscriber, so many of my ideas for picks come from there. Not all of them, though, and I never mindlessly grab one of each whenever Tom and Bill come out with their latest recommendations. I always look at the companies myself, even for my CAPS portfolio, and decide if I agree. Then I pick it. [more]

OYOG reported bang-up results this morning, and the stock jumped on the news. This is what happens when sector-related influences meet real results. OYOG has yo-yoed around for the past couple of months, moving with oil prices which, as I mentioned in my pitch for the company, have little real impact upon OYOG's results. So now, when the real report comes out, the stock corrects to a price that reflects reality, and thos smart people who bought the stock when oil prices dropped get to enjoy a nice pop. [more]

BBI was just ticking me off, sitting there with its massive gains since approximately 5 seconds after I added it as a short in CAPS. I'm sick of looking at it, so I'm killing it today. I'll wait until they have some fantastic news, like the release of Bull Durham 2, and then I'll short it again. I still think that they're going to fail, just not this year.
