Pigs killed in Egypt

I'd like to point out that the majority of the Egyptians are Muslim and thus don't eat pigs.  Eventhough they did the same thing with chickens I personally do not believe this has nothing to do with religion.   Christians are persecuted in the country and have trouble worshiping their chosen religion.  Here you can read about the persecution of Christians in Egypt.  Further the ministry is not reimbursing the farmers for the pigs because "they can sell their meat" that's straight up BS.  What about reproduction?  This governement is taking advantage of a "pandemic" to punish a religion.  Unless you think we should round up every Muslim into a concentration camp like WWII, this is stupid.  [more]

Two Big Boys to Add to Your Portfolio

I'm a fan of the high risk/ high reward picks, YTEC and SNDA are examples of two small Chinese companies I was touting around as the future. SNDA worked out...unfortunately YTEC is the one I own. Either way this is not about that. This is about two big “safe” companies I think you should be buying now.  [more]

World Baseball Classic Format is Stupid

March 22, 2009 – Comments (3)

Here's an article where Chipper Jones was critical of the format of the WBC .  There are a lot of issues that he doesn't talk about, the biggest one I see is that it's not a series format now that teams are in the finals.   Having played baseball my whole life I know that not only does the team that is best, but even the team that plays the best will win every game.  In my opinion this is more true than any other sport, this statistical variance can go for months, for example David Newhan hit over .400 with the Orioles for much of the 2003 Season I believe it was....and most have never heard of him.  Next I suggest the first round of pool play be done not this year, much the way the World Cup is organized, this would allow for more games in the season the finals occur to be played.   Further I suggest the series format, as a former pitcher I recognize this is probably why the format is set the way it is; however allow a team to carry more pitchers, this is a very simple solution for example a 30 man roster in which 16 must be pitchers. I think this would very much improve the format.  Also why would games involving Cuba be palyed in LA, when half of Cuba resides in Miami, now that is just stupid.  [more]
