Pfizer stock is trading near 52 week lows, is well off its highs from a few years ago, and recently closed below it's lower Bollinger band? The funadmentals look very good and until recently they had a ton of cash. [more]

It's been 15 months since I last posted an in-depth look at Portfolio Recovery Associates, which is a firm that recently met its earnings numbers. This meeting of expectations might as well have been a beat, as it squeezed some of those shorts out this past week. The last time that I looked at this stock, it was at a 40 handle, and I said that I thought it could run to the mid 40's, and over the year following topped out at 50, about a 25% return. This is not bad considering that the overall market had declined 20%; actually it was great. I sold around 44, and took some profits personally, never re-entering. However, a year after my post, the stock was down 20%, related to the S&P, which was down 40%. Not bad at all. It is since then that problems have arose, as they both sit at about a 45% decline yoy. I just put in an underperform call on Altria who also happens to own a 28.7% stake in SABMiller PLC, so I was looking at SABMiller stock quotes in Johanesburg and London, and it says that it has a Market Cap of 1.7 Trillion, I'm assuming this is in Pounds even if it is in South African Rand Altria's steak is worth about 50 Billion dollars, the reason this doesn't make sense is Altria has a market cap of 40 Billion, thus you'd be getting money to buy Alrtria. If someone could explain this or what the real number on SABMiller are that'd be great. [more]

I'm watching these guys, on CNBC, and I think it would have been hillarious if one guy stood up and said 1 Billion in Tarp, I make 500,000 a year, and my bonus was 10 Million because I shorted all this crap. [more]
