Samsung Electronics raises chip prices nearly 20% for Apple (AAPL) - Chosun Ilbo

An official familiar with negotiations tells the Chosun Ilbo that Apple initially rejected the price increase but found itself unable to locate another supplier and therefore was forced to accept it. Samsung, which has a contract to supply the AP Delivery Units to Apple until 2014, supplied 130M last year and is expected to ship more than 200M this year.
Recently read an interesting article that states that ARMH 64 bit Server chips are in development and would be a disruptive force within the Server landscape which INTC currently owns about 95% of the market share. Main point of the article stated lower power consumption of the ARMH chips vs. INTC and that it would save a significant amount of money. [more]
