Gold is the safe haven of the economy downturn. I believe that gold is down because of excessive leveraged funds are getting margin calls and looking for cash to cover. They have to sell their winners quick. Just look at how fast the commodity stocks dive.
After these selling fraziness fades, gold will return above $1000/ounce due...

Lowering credit rating on many banks, financial firms or GM like trouble business companies has come too late. Any rating downgrade on financial firms will only make the credit crunch even worse. Banks can't raise cash after seeing their stock dive. They have to cling to their cash so no lending for others. [more]

My bet is on gold diggers like GG, AU, AUY, KGC, GOLD. The reason is USD will sink and gold will go up.
