Can Anyone Explain This...

March 15, 2011 – Comments (4) | RELATED TICKERS: URA , PKN.DL , NLR

Why is URA being punished more than NLR and PKN? It dropped almost 8% today vs 4.5% and 2.67% respectively. Was it really that overvalued? I know its top heavy with CCJ and Uranium One, but is it really that simple?   [more]

Bringing Intelligence to the Nuclear Conversation

March 14, 2011 – Comments (15) | RELATED TICKERS: CCJ , URA , NLR

It is no surprise that uranium suppliers, nuclear reactor builders, and uranium ETFs were down across the board today. Most stocks are still well off of their mid-summer lows, the ETFs not so much. The world is watching the situation in Japan as officials at multiple plants try to contain radiation leaks and cool reactors without back-up power (except for diesel generators) and cooling systems in 3 three reactors. Government officials in nuclear nations are calling for a moratorium on new reactor planning and questioning the safety of reactors already in place - rightfully so. However, investors should not mistake a call for concern as a declaration that "nuclear is dead", as Cramer so intellectually put it. Here's why:  [more]

BlacknGold Pharma Blogs - CRMD

March 14, 2011 – Comments (6) | RELATED TICKERS: AEZS , GSK , PFE

Today’s BlacknGold Pharma pick is CorMedix (CRMD), which unfortunately is not on CAPS. CorMedix focuses on treating kidney diseases such as acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). It is a relatively unknown company that has been trading under the radar (an average daily volume that fluctuates between 10k-30k vs. 11.5 million shares out). It has two main drug candidates – Deferiprone and Neutrolin – with 5 major trials underway. The company’s market cap of $19.29 million compared to its current valuation of $50 million make it significantly undervalued. It has $9.5 million in cash, which is enough to carry it through 2012 at the current burn rates. It has $0 debt and has received multiple grants totaling $490K.         [more]

Japanese Reactors and Uranium Plays

March 11, 2011 – Comments (15) | RELATED TICKERS: URA , CCJ , GE

I would like to open a discussion about how the ongoing emergency with two Japanese nuclear power plants will/can affect uranium stocks. After the devasting earthquake, tsunami, and aftershocks the Japanese government reported that it had trouble cooling reactors at two Japanese nuclear power plants in the north of the island. Uranium stocks are trading down across the board in after hours. Luckily, officials have the weekend to cool the reactors (versus investors getting slammed tomorrow if the market was open). If they succeed I would guess uranium stocks wouldn't be hit too hard on Monday morning. Should the situation progressively worsen, uranium stocks might go cliff-diving next week.   [more]

FOOLS! I would like to apologize for my hiatus from the CAPS community - and my rating ain't too great because of it. I'm just beginning to realize the importance of the "thumbs down" option. I have been quite busy with school and work (aren't we all?), but please forgive me starting these late since I know I promised them in like what, November? Give me a swift kick in the a$$ the next time I keep you guys hanging. So, without further delay I present to you NovaBay Pharmaceuticals (NBY).  [more]
