Having traded Ultra ETFs both ways, some people (maybe many), I imagine, used the volstility to claw their portfolios from the hole of recession. However, many stocks did not recover in 1.5 years still. I suspect there's going to be a selloff. But it's hard to imagine everyone will be waiting until the last trading day of the year. So, when to sell the loosers? And, more importantly, what to buy after the sale? Ultrashort ETFs could be the answer, if this prediction is to come true. Doubly so, since short ETFs pay huge disbursement in the second half of the year. Tempting and scary!  [more]

Optimizing Shorting Ultrashorts

Basically, shorting ultrashorts needs to happen according to following

 - if position can be closed with gain and ETF share price and market cap allows re-opening, close and reopen in 20 minutes;

 - if market cap or share price are below playable level or approach it, ride it to 0 (but be watchful for reverse splits, that may open additional opportunities to gain points).
