Why does CAPS attribute the dividend when it's announced? Example I have an alert in my box today saying RIO (vale) has payed out a dividend of .22 per share and my start price has been adjusted. The thing is RIO has not payed out a dividend of .22 per share. The payout date is the seventh of May. The record date isn't even until 20Apr (Monday), so why am I already getting a CAPS notice and a score adjustment? If a player wants the score adjusment that comes with a dividend payment shouldn't they have to wait until at least the dividend record date to bank that gain? I don't think players are really gaming the CAPS pre-dividend payment score adjusment by closing their picks after caps gives them the bonus but pre actual record date, but it bugs me... because it's inaccurate... n' stuff... Doesn't that mean we get the all clear for it to at least kiss 900? I'm not really a hard core technical analysis guy, but that's kind of how it looks to me.
