Anyone have any special insight into the state of Fluor?

September 18, 2008 – Comments (3) | RELATED TICKERS: FLR

FLR's one of those companies I've always thought about investing in and never did.  Then as I watched it double I silently kicked myself.  Well it's come back down a good deal, like everything else in the market, and I'm starting to wonder if FLR is going to be one of those golden opportunities to get in at a low price due to overall market pressure pulling it down.  I'm a big fan of infrastructure plays and Fluor is one of those engineering and infrastructure plays that's generally thought of as one of the best.  They reported good numbers last quarter and have big back log of work.... which is normally good news.  The only real reason I can think of for this company to have fallen so fast is that their is genuine fear that a good deal of those backlog work orders will be cancelled due to overall global economic woes.  So I was wondering if anyone here had any special insight or general thoughts as to whether or not those fears are real concerns, making this stock something to avoid, or if those fears are more panic induced and generally unfounded, making the stock look fairly attractive at these levels?   [more]
