I have to keep resetting my computer's clock, because it keeps losing minutes and it won't update like it's theoretically supposed to. When I try to update it, it tells me that it encountered an error, or some such lame excuse. Does anybody know a good way to fix this, or somehow make my clock update automatically? Thanks.
Okay, my score is up 1105.27, or about 30%, but my ranking is down 0.72, from 99.05 to 98.37. Not only is this confusing for my vanity, but it means lots of somebodies had big moves upward today. What happened? Please post what you think was the most significant development for the market today.
I was a little disappointed by the lack of comments on my previous post, one of the few actually about investing that I've posted in the past year or so. I appreciate the almost unprecedented (for me) number of rec's, but I feel pretty lonely without the discussion (at least until I log off and get back to my real life). [more]
It's not just that the market isn't plummeting 45% this year (not yet, anyway). I had access to put options, and I probably could have shorted if I'd really wanted to, and had the courage of my convictions. I just had too much "faith" in the ability of the Fed to completely mask any economic downturn with money printing. I was actually afraid to short in an environment I knew to be a disaster. In that way, I was much like Peter Schiff (whom I was watching and listening to at the time). [more]
