I just thought of something a few days ago: What if I use my Roth IRA at my online discount broker to trade in and out of volatile "good" stocks? Using my experience at Marketocracy, I could set limit orders to cover trading costs with comfortable profit margins, and hold a minimum amount of each stock to capture sudden, unforeseeable upside (and then take the uninvested portion and put it to work elsewhere).   [more]

...Does anybody know whether or not this is worth more than $6? I was pretty sure it was worth more than $10, but it's been below $5 on two different days now, and I just read that E*Trade is losing literally all their accounts, so of course bankruptcy is inevitable, right? Because they already ditched their mortgage business, so they have nothing left if they lose their accounts, right?  [more]

I signed up on CAPS with a certain email address I don't use much anymore, got caught up in other things, and eventually forgot about it. Then, I signed up a 2nd time with a newer email address, and that is the CAPS account you see before you now. Then, I was reminded of the previous account when my dad bought me a subscription to Hidden Gems and used my old email address for the account. I log onto Hidden Gems and expect to create a new username, when lo and behold, the long-forgotten username pops up.  [more]
