Will our economy turn into the lost decade that Japan experienced?  With easy money flowing to bail out banks and the likes, not to mention the Fed rate at or near zero, one has to wonder if the U.S. will be the next "New Japan"?  This opinion article from today's WSJ points to signs where we may be on that very path.  Will China take over sooner rather than later because of this?  [more]

Will the U.S. Economy Stall in its Recovery?

In today's WSJ, an insightful article points to the question many of us have been asking: Is this recovery for real?  Well, if you look at the nice run in the stock market since its low on March 9, you would think that everything is rosy.  This article highlights the hesitancy of many small businesses (that are the engine to employment growth) to expand for fear of the uncertainties in health care overhaul and tax hikes.  Will this lead to our economy stalling as it tries to recover from the Great Recession?  I'm afraid so.  So what do you do about it?  You look for companies that invest out of a recession such as Intel, Oracle, and Cisco.  Cisco has been on an acquisition tear this year.  What do you think?  [more]
