I was, of course, concerned when US investors spent $Billions in BABA's IPO.  I mean, I know we elected Obama, but aren't those with money smart enough not to buy stock in a Communist-run company, where the Communists could literally step in at any moment and take over the company?  If you want some history, look at Hugo Chavez and Venezuela.  Hugo literally took over every foreign company of consequence in Venezuela - stole the whole thing - all assets - lock, stock and barrel.  That CAN happen if things go south for the Chinese Economy (and I believe WILL).    [more]

Where should I invest if Unemployment is going to 4.9%?

I have a couple of Financial Advisors (one professional) who I have asked that question to.  Note that I asked it when Unemployment was around 7%.  I felt that BLS would report Unemployment at 4.9% by the end of this year.  My timing may be off, but the trajectory is there.  Many weeks of sub-300k New UI Applications and the dropoff (though not nearly as steep as I had expected) in Long-Term Unemployment point to (conservatively) 4.9% Unemployed.  [more]
