Google 3-4 years later

August 28, 2010 – Comments (1) | RELATED TICKERS: GOOGL

This post was written 3-4 years ago when google had a share price of $505.  Seeing how the last quarter in the data I was using was Q3 in 2006, well, that is very close to 4 years.  Back then I worked out earnings growth would have to be 1094% in 5 years (467% in 3.5 years) to support the share price and give a PEG of one, or to about $10 a quarter now.  [more]

European banks - a quarter insolvent?

August 16, 2010 – Comments (0)

The good news I read in the post about reasonable stress tests on European banks is that they tend to hold their own debt, so most of the pain from fixing this stupidity will be felt where it was created.  [more]

First Solar - A load of hype?

August 05, 2010 – Comments (4) | RELATED TICKERS: FSLR

It seems to me that there was a heck of a lot of hype around a new generation of solar panels and I have been trying to look into what kind of energy gains might be possible in comparison to an existing solar system, but I was unable to find any useful information to that end.  I wrote them and I got a response to look at their website, which is where I was looking for that kind of information, until I got frustrated and wrote to them.  [more]
