Seems pretty naive in my opinion to short now with the trend in the jobs numbers strongly favoring longs.
Shorting ahead of the jobs numbers in the past worked like magic only because the trend was on the way down. That trend has now reversed and shorting ahead of such reports is dangerous to your portfolio.
Stock up +20 in one week then, down -20 in a few days and up +10 in another few days.
Now those kind of moves can make anyone sick to their stomach no matter how good they are at trading.

We have not gotten a +200 day in some time now but it the market may have trapped enough shorts the last 7 trading days to actually cause a +200 DJIA day.
In the Short-term the market became a little too enticing for the shorts to not enter and today they are paying the ultimate price for that entrance.
What does it tell you? It should tell you that the smart money believes the sector has bottomed out much like they told us in early Nov. 2011 that the Home Builder Sector has bottomed out.
Very interesting that this College returned to profits because the entire sector is trading at or below book values currently. I will be very interested to see what other for profit Colleges report?
