This is what happens when you learn as you go. I am at the top of the "Good Score Bad Accuracy" list. It's also what happens if you don't actively manage your list of picks! A lot can happen if you don't watch for a few days. All it takes is a few biotechs with failed clinical trials and BOOM - there go your numbers. Also - I've learned that it's better to cut a stock from your list while it's still in the green. Once it slips deep in the red it takes forever to offset the negative impact. I truly wish there was a "start over" option. [more]

I wish I could erase some of my losers from the past and fix my accuracy but I guess that will creep up over time. As of today there are only 3 people with CAPs scores above 2000 and I am one of them. What do I win?

Man - it has been a rough ride the last few weeks. I am hanging in there and trying to pick out the winners from the top of the heap and scrape off the garbage from the bottom. My old strategy of grabbing stocks needing more picks does not seem to be working as well in this turbulent market. I think I'd be better off looking for the best of the best performers on everyone else's lists and grabbing a few when I can. Hey - there is nothing wrong with borrowing other peoples picks! That is what this whole game is about. Helping each other. I hope you can find some winners on my list. Or maybe learn from my mistakes at least. Good luck and hang in there everyone. [more]

I am back on the CAPS game after putting it on the back burner for the last month or so. I'm back up to 200 active picks and I am going to clean out the garbage once a week. If it goes into the double digits red I am dumping it!! You might wonder how I get my picks. I look in two places, both in the Top Ten area. The one is Stocks Needing More Picks. You can find some great values there for the real world. Most are priced low and on their way up. Just look at the past performance and run a few charts before you add them. There are some dogs in there too. If I run out of ideas there I go to the Highest Rated Stocks and cherry pick a few based on past performance. A lot of these are topped out and you wont see a lot of quick gains but they are fairly safe investments. Just do your research before you add them. And DON'T FALL IN LOVE WITH ANY STOCK. If it starts to drop - DUMP IT. You can always buy it back! [more]

I'm dumping all of my poor performers. I must've thought they were good at some point but they are dragging me down so - Good riddance to bad rubbish! Happy holidays everyone!
