LGDI mining worth a look

August 29, 2009 – Comments (16)

I mentioned this stock in another thread but I like it enough to post a separate blog.  Basically this is an Australian mining stock that is starting up as mainly phosphate rock mining to use as fertilizer. This is basically a 4-5 year hold.  The mines are in place. The permits are being issued.  The transportation is in line.  The company expects to start producing 500,000 tonnes and to expand ultimately to 5 million tonnes.  Here is the link to the company's homepage:  [more]

Oil over $73 and climbing?

August 21, 2009 – Comments (1) | RELATED TICKERS: BP , ATPAQ

$73 has been a resistance number for awhile for Oil and it looks like it is crashing through that today.  I don't know if it is just contract expiration related or sustainable price growth, but it will probably mean a good day for oil stocks today.  An interesting article worth reading (of course just one person's view) :  [more]

ATPG

August 12, 2009 – Comments (6) | RELATED TICKERS: BP , ATPAQ

My 2 biggest oil holdings in real life are BP (mainly for the yield) and ATPG (mainly for the potential appreciation).  I have advised people to accumulate this stock in the past, and recently advised to continue to do so if under $8.  For those actually interested in this stock here is an informative link:  [more]

Oil over $70 again

August 03, 2009 – Comments (8) | RELATED TICKERS: BP , ATPAQ

I really didn't expect oil to pop over $70 again after July 4th for awhile.  I was expecting an oil range upper 50s lower to mid 60s until end of the year.  This run up confuses me to be honest.  I am starting to think that oil is being held more as an asset than a product.  If it stays above $70 this can only but maintain a bullish signal.  I would continue to urge integrateds like BP as buys, and even a company like ATPG, which will only but benefit with any sustained "high" price, especially when their Telemark hub opens up.  Take a look at it.  [more]
