Granted, everybody has their own opinion on this matter, but I couldn't agree more with this outlook assessment. I think we are in for a long recovery. We have just hit bottom and there is still a lot of mess to purge out of the system before we see any real growth.

This might sound a little corny, but I think it would be cool if Motely Fool had an investor confidence meter that gauges the overall confidence of our community. Something that kind of rates the over all buying activity or something similar in nature. Having something like that easily accessible when you login or on the home page just to glance at would be interesting. Of course, you can always look at the changing trends and read the news, but something to think about. You could always take it into other areas/aspects of investing. [more]

I'm not sure how many of you have been keeping track of Rambus these days, but they have been rather aggressive lately enforcing patents among a large number of manufactures. They have been hard at work suing Micron for patent infringements that don't seem to apply to the technologies they claim. It seems judges are starting to turn around and see the light as a US judge recently ruled against RBMS in the Micron case. [more]

Retail business are reporting dismal signs: Staples, JC Pennies, Home Depot, Lowes, etc... Manufacturing has shrunk the most in 26 Years. Not the mention it's official: Recession since Dec. '07. I was listening to one of Clark Howard's clips on Inflation and he was claiming that we are currently experiencing stagflation right now. However, I'm seeing conflicting results from various research institutes, ECRI, and the BLS site. I'm no expert on this, but shouldn't we be experiencing inflation with stagnant growth simultaneiously? The stagnant growth is obvious, but when was the last we experienced inflation?
