Guns, Gold and Beasts of Burden!

April 22, 2009 – Comments (12)

I don’t appreciate is the “Doom and Gloomers” proclaiming that we need to buy guns, gold and beasts of burden because we are on a road to a Mad Max like existence. What nonsense is this?! How dare they sell their futures so cheap?! Panic and paranoia run rampant in herds of livestock and people. If enough people start to believe the bologna this "destiny" just might have the energy to manifest it self. Stop it, you know who you are. Don’t make me put you in time out.  [more]

Corporate bonus?

April 16, 2009 – Comments (2) | RELATED TICKERS: GM , BAC , AIG

I have worked half of my adult life as a commissioned sales person. As a result I believe in performance based pay. You do a good job, you make good money. If you take no hostages and finish in the top ten of your piers you get an extra amount of cash top of what you made on your own. That is a true bonus. A bonus is not part of a negotiated annual pay package.

As for corporate bosses I STRONGLY believe in a healthy base salary (nothing more than $500k annually) plus a certain number of company shares to be issued to them quarterly. Those shares must be sold immediately upon issuance to fund the rest of his pay. If the company is doing well the share price should increase, therefore his take home pay would to. If the company is being driven into the ground the share price would reflect this and his take home pay would decrease. This would encourage positive performance out of the higher-ups. And what of bonuses for corporate bosses? No bonuses. Free cookies, milk and pats of the head for eating your veggies are for children. When you find yourself sitting behind your walnut desk in the corner office those days are done.   [more]
