Which is the best company you don't own? And what do I mean be best? I define best as being the one stock that has all the qualities you are attracted to, yet can't bring yourself to buy. Many of you reading this are saying to yourselves "Why would you not buy such a company?" Well, my dear reader, there are a whole list of reasons, good or bad, that might cause an investor to hold back: The CEO is over six feet tall, the company is based over seas, the company was established the year of your birth, the company is 50% state owned, the company forces their entry level people to take turns dancing in animal costumes for the amusement of Japanese tourists...I could go on. Yesterday I decided to create a new handle (catoismymotor3) with a new purpose: If I were to pull a Rip Van Winkle for the next five years which stocks would I want in my portfolio? I decided to keep the number small because in real life my portflio is limited to six companies, ones I know very well. I have four of those six represented in my picks. The additional six picks for caps are companies I think are solid as well but chose not to buy in real life. I know with only ten picks my caps score will never be high. But it will be fun to see what can be done with ten picks for five years. So in five years (12/22/09) you can either laugh with me or at me. So long as laughing occurs I'll be happy. [more]

Arrest The International Olympic Committee! I am sure you have read about CO2 being classified as a pollutant. And as a law biding citizen of this small blue marble I feel it is my job to alert you, the citizens of the world, to a major producer of this poison: The International Olympic Committee. For the length of five score and thirteen years this international syndicate has moved from city to city spreading deadly CO2. They say they stand for international brotherhood through sport.
