I was reviewing the top 10 stocks I recommended awhile back to see how their performance has held up. Several of them I ended my outperform call on & for those stocks I took the amount I was ahead/behind of the S&P at the time of ending coverage. In the case of NBG, I "sold" & just recently rebought so my score there is the combination of those 2 results. Here are the results as of today [more]

I apologize to anyone that has read my blog posts in the past for my lack of posts recently. Between work, school & my golf game I haven't been doing a lot of new stock research lately. Mostly just checking in on the stocks I currently have. That being said I am looking for stocks with good dividend yields & may begin to add more financial exposure to my portfolio. Especially with banks that have little sub prime exposure. One that is on my watchlist is FCF & I will get into their story in a little time. But to be brief we are talking a nice dividend yield & no sub prime exposure. Stock is up over 7% since I have been watching it & I believe it has room to grow. [more]

With the recent breakup of the Raidan merger & all the volatility currently going on in all things homebuilder. I decided to look at some companies that are "tagged" as title insurance companies. Bascially I was looking for cash rich companies with little to no debt & that traded at a good P/BV mutliple. Basic idea is that the Sub-Prime mortgage fiasco while legitimate is overblown & there may be several companies that can be bought here with good prospects. While I know the book value of these companies may decrease over the short term, I think long term those companies with good balance sheets will be able to dominate. Anyways I am just going to list 3 companies that I like & have added to my watchlist. Let me know what you think. [more]
