July 30, 2010 – Comments (7) | RELATED TICKERS: EXK

Calling all silver investors ... I will be interviewing Endeavour Silver Chairman & CEO Bradford Cooke this afternoon and have several topics I wish to discuss with him ... but I also wanted to make some room for questions from this community in case any of you have specific questions you would like answered about the company, its future, or even aspects of the silver market.  [more]

The Run on Bullion Banks Has Begun

July 26, 2010 – Comments (8) | RELATED TICKERS: CEF , AUY

For longstanding gold and silver investors who have waited patiently for an end to the bullion banks' collective ability to maintain their price-suppressing stranglehold on the market by means of massive leverage, naked short selling, and insidious opacity, their house of cards is finally in the process of falling down.  [more]

Where Have All The Scholars Gone?

July 22, 2010 – Comments (10)

Is no one out there retaining the disciplne of following bellwether industrial earnings and outlooks in order to keep their finger on the pulse of the crucial American industrial base? I know the condition of many industrials is pretty severely impaired and therefore a bit depressing to observe, but since when does turning a blind get us anywhere?  [more]

Nothing Has Changed for Gold and Silver

July 19, 2010 – Comments (20) | RELATED TICKERS: CEF , SLW , TCPTF

Stay the course, intrepid precious metal longs. If you want to try to get fancy and play this pullback by pulling out some exposure and trying to get back in near the next major support around $1,150, I am not here to argue against that sort of trading ... just accept this friendly reminder that as quickly as the momentum shifted from a bullish springboard in a cup and handle formation a few weeks ago to an unexpected pullback amid tectonic shifts of paired trades in the FOREX market, it can launch higher again with similar ferocity.   [more]

Revisiting Old Macro Calls on Real Estate

July 14, 2010 – Comments (2) | RELATED TICKERS: CX , USG , KBH

When the entire world was excitedly singing a recovery song, I sustained my unpopular conviction that commercial real estate represented yet another shoe to drop onto the toes of a frightening overall environment for real estate and related debts.   [more]

Here Comes the Flood of Lies and Obfuscation

July 13, 2010 – Comments (5) | RELATED TICKERS: BAC , GS , JPM

Earnings season for the all-powerful financial giants is an exercise in trickery and opacity. I have decried for years now the blatant deception inherent in the accounting practices of the financials ... and indeed of all the corporate holders of toxic derivative exposures that have been permitted to lie their way out of crisis by marking those assets to fanciful notions of presumed value under normalized conditions rather than writing them down to the pennies on the dollar the would fetch on the market even this many months into the OTC meltdown. All they have done is kick the can down the road, and permitted trusting investors to essentially forget about their very existence.  [more]

Great Panther Strikes Again :)

July 13, 2010 – Comments (0)

The finest feline of the junior-junior metals patch continues to post quarter after quarter after quarter of tremendous production growth on its war-path to produce 3.8m SEOs / year by 2012. Production results out today look phenomenal, and I expect that to translate into further earnings success as improving recovery rates carry production costs lower. Keep in mind, the ore grades at Great Panther's operations are full-fledged bonanza deposits. At $95m (fully diluted), this one tops the list of the most laughable valuations.  [more]
