I've kind of been the opinion that the fair value price for the market (S&P 500) is around 1050. We had a period of irrational exuberation and expectations that there was going to be a healthy recovery. I saw someone post a tip in their blogs that you should not invest more than 20% of your portfolio in any one stock or fund, no matter how highly you think of the stock. I assume that this is a risk management philosophy. I pondered that a bit, because I tend to take a very different take on my short-term investing. If you're talking about long-term investing, sure I agree. For short-term, if I think I've locked onto a great stock at a great price, why would I not want to take a large position in that stock?
