My shocking realization about the best performing stocks

March 26, 2010 – Comments (2) | RELATED TICKERS: GMCR , MNST , XTO

So I like to do a lot of historical research on stocks. Some of it can be a complete time suck, but I find some of it can be pretty interesting, if not enlightening.   [more]

HP, Goldman, and Mastercard -- pay your investors!

March 23, 2010 – Comments (4) | RELATED TICKERS: HPQ , GS , MA

I'm back at it again, scolding companies that just don't share the company riches with investors like they should. Last time I picked on Apple, Google, and WellPoint -- none of whom pay any dividends at all. This time I heckeled Hewlett-Packard, Goldman Sachs, and Mastercard.  [more]

Is a flat market likely?

March 18, 2010 – Comments (4) | RELATED TICKERS: V , INTC , MA

I'll admit to casually talking about the market "flattening out," but with history as a guide, it looks really unlikely that a truly flat market is a potential. Am I a closet Ron Paul fan?

March 18, 2010 – Comments (6)

Well, it depends on how you define "fan." I can't say that I agree with most of what he says, but I do love to hear him question Bernanke. Agree or not, he is one of the few folks that seems to bring a (mostly) educated view to the hearings and asks good, pointed questions.   [more]

On baseball and investing....

March 15, 2010 – Comments (0) | RELATED TICKERS: POT , COLM , BRK-B

Is your stock a double? A triple? A home run? Maybe a multi-bagger? Yeah, I know, there have been a lot of baseball metaphors when it comes to investing, but I couldn't help but add one more in my article on Fool.com today.  [more]
