Interesting article on UnitedHealth (UNH) in the WSJ yesterday (subscription required). The gist of the article is that after signing up Lab Corp (LH) as its new lab of choice, UnitedHealth has been trying to strong-arm doctors into using only Lab Corp's labs. While it's to be expected that they want to make the most of that relationship/contract, they seem to be overstepping their bounds a bit and are trying to fine doctors who are referring patients to out-of-network labs.   [more]
