More and more I find myself wishing & hoping we'll get some great search capability in CAPS. What keeps reminding me of this is the success I've had with Talbots (TLB). Despite their 1 star rating, and without nailing the bottom by any means, I'm up over 70% on CAPS. I hold a fair chunk of TLB in reality too, up only 20% or so. But still, up 20% since November? I'll take it. All it took was a new, good CEO bringing in some new good people to revitalize a sagging business. [more]

The Fool and I each have an achievement to report. Theirs is far more important: the inclusion of dividends in computation of our CAPS returns; mine is simply the happenstance of entering the top 1000 competitors. [more]

the stock ratings are a nice feature, but the success I've had with lower-rated stocks makes me want something more. For instance, I'd like to see people who made similar calls to my own, especially contrarian or unusual calls. I'd like to be able to filter that by players' scores to look for those who are more consistent. Then I'd like to be able to chat with those people. How bout it, Senyor Fool? Will you make this a real social software project?

Seems like there should be a lucky charm for top 10%, based on the fact that I made it into that elite category today and have received not ONE phone call from the motley fool staff.

Jeremy Siegel (http://www.jeremysiegel.com/ - it appears we can't link in this "blog") lays out a compelling case in The Future for Investors that dividends make up a meaningful part of real returns in stock investments. Indeed, the Motley Fool agrees, basing their Income Investor newsletter on this point. So why don't dividends figure in CAPS?
