The Stinky Feet portfolio hits a milestone.

May 29, 2009 – Comments (7) | RELATED TICKERS: TTM , APWR , SPAR

Just thought I would post a milestone message memorializing our success.

Today, for the first time, the Stinky Portfolio has surpassed 1,000 points.  As of 2:00 PST, we had a score of 1,020.87 points.

Unfortunately, though we gained some points, we lost a little in our accuracy, with our accuracy rating dropping down to 61.33%.  Part of this is due to the negative score of our newest addition, BWLD, but it performed well today, beating the S&P500's gain for the day, and I am sure it will be bringing us points and accuracy in the future.

Our player rating dropped a little due to our accuracy drop, now ranking at 96.71, but that still puts us in the Top 4% of the CAPS world and would rank a solid "A" from the grading system in use when I was growing up.  (Nobody used the curve back then at any school I attended.)

I think a great stat to look at is our Average Pick Score.  With 73 current picks and 3 closed picks, our Average Pick Score is 13.43 points, so we have beaten the S&P500 by over 13% since 8/4/08 when the portfolio started.  If this performance keeps up, we should beat the S&P500 by about 15% by our anniversary date.  That is great performance in anyone's book.

We did not gain any more stocks in the 100+ points club, so our leaders are still TTM, APWR and SPAR.  It will be interesting to see if we can get some others over that milestone.  [more]

Jumping up, Falling down. Don't misunderstand me.

August 26, 2008 – Comments (1) | RELATED TICKERS: QSII , OXPS , IIVI

I think I will claim the "market flu". Kind of like the bird flu, but instead it typically lasts for an undetermined amount of time, yet most people I talk to have some preconceived notion that it will be another week, maybe a day, or 2 months. Nobody really knows and truthfully, I don't really care. I am having fun standing on my head screaming like a pathetic spoiled two year old and the next I am in mass hysteria looking for my glasses and at the end of the day I find myself out of breath, mind, and witts to only reside on the office couch that seems to get so much use lately. No doubt some of you Fools know what I am talking about......the only thing that I am certain about is the fact that this opportunity might only come along 1 more time in my lifetime where I have the chance to take advantage of it and get some solid companies that only a few people will find yet everybody is looking for them. If I find myself unprepared to put the money back on the table, will I regret it with this market or will I just find another way to make an honest dollar. Forget the news, rumors, and sattire that is playing out and find the solid companies that are looking to be harvested in this go around. Ride them for 2 decades and then jump ship and start a website like caps stating that if you listened to me 20 years ago your portfolio would be umpteen million dollars by now and all you had to do was invest a small percentage of your wealth.  [more]

When we were kids we use to fight over tonka trucks and whos turn it was to .........

August 19, 2008 – Comments (0) | RELATED TICKERS: SIGM , DWSN , GIFI

use the big wheel. Then we got older and decided to fight over chicks and who had to drive to the parties. Now that we are older, we get our panties in a bunch over a substance that is either being depleated or being harvested at a unbelievable rate and most countries want a piece of it. Well, some of us still fight over chicks and some of us can see past the debate on oil, but wouldn't it be nice to take your ideas back to a simple state of "hey, that is a really cool tonka truck! Can I play with that?" Well you can do that and more over at the discussion board "thestinkyfeet" where a few fools are interested in discussing small cap stocks.  [more]
