We would be in so much better shape as a country right now. Maybe next time...

I have not posted on here before, but I have commented and done a lot of reading. I have a general question to ask everyone. I am very young in terms of retirement (26) but have noticed a decent amount accumulating in my 401K based on a big chunk of money coming in recently. I am up 31% on the year and I was thinking about pulling mostly out of stocks until the next drop in the market (which I expect to be very soon). My two main questions are: (1) Is it really worth it to try to play the short-term market in your 401K?, and (2) Do I want to put any money into the only other option I have, AGVRX (AIM US Government), which is almost 40% in US Treasury Bond and US Treasury Note Futures? I hate treasuries right now, but this option is more safe than buying treasuries alone or dealing with a big drop in the market. I am also a big believer in a decent amount of inflation in the relatively close future, which is why all of my non-401K investing goes towards physical silver. Thanks for the help. [more]
