Turns out Costco is selling a great ceiling can unit. It's a 120 watt equivalent for about $13. To install it you remove the old bulb and the bezel around it. You then move the moveable socket part all the way up and screw in the cord. Finally you attack the spring clips on and push the connectors on the cord together, put the spring clips over the tabs in the can and push it up. It has its own gasket and bezel. [more]
Well, I've replaced 27 bulbs on the main level with LED lights. My electric bill has dropped! I'm basically not buy anything but LED bulbs anymore. (With the exception of a few specialized bulbs that aren't the normal format.) As the remaining incandescent and CFL bulbs burn out, I'll use up the last few in stock and then that will be that!
