Updates
The most significant TARP events since the last report are the first three failures of Capital Purchase Program (CPP) institutions. CIT became the first confirmed CPP loss when it declared bankruptcy on 1 Nov. On 6 Nov, UCBH Holdings (UCBH) became the first CPP bank to be seized by the FDIC. The second CPP bank to fall to the FDIC was Pacific Coast National Bank (PCST.PK) on 13 Nov. [more]

If you’ve followed either my TARPedBanks blogs or blogs under my rd80 account, you know I’ve been opposed to the government programs pouring money into banks, automakers and who knows what else. However, by at least one measure, TARP may be achieving one of its goals. [more]
